PRESIDENT’S WELCOME
On behalf of the Florida Diamond Club, we would like to extend a friendly welcome to everyone who will be attending our event.
The 2021 Florida Diamond Club event will be taking place on the weekend of October 1 – 3 in Lakeland, FL at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium. The format this year will remain largely the same as the last few years with four scout-assembled regional teams competing against each other. This year, the North will be represented by the Boston Red Sox, the East by the Los Angeles Dodgers, the South will be the Detroit Tigers, and the West will be the Chicago White Sox.
In terms of the format, there will be one game on Friday with the first pitch scheduled for 6:30pm, two games on Saturday starting at 10:30am, and a final game on Sunday beginning at 10:20am.
Following the game on Friday, there will be a hospitality night at “The Brass Tap” located in the Lakeland Town Center where food and beverage will be complimentary for FDC members. On Saturday, in-between games, lunch will be served at the field for all FDC members.
Immediately following the conclusion of the second game on Saturday, the Florida Diamond Club banquet will be held at the Detroit Tigers Tigertown banquet hall. All members are welcome to attend and partake in the fellowship. Dinner will be served along with the awards presentation for Scout of the Year and Coach of the Year.
This event is not only rich in history, but every year the significance of the Florida Diamond Club is apparent in the MLB Draft. Over the past three years, over 150 players who have participated in previous Florida Diamond Club’s heard their name called in the July Draft. It continues to be the premier event in the state of Florida, and I am honored to have the opportunity to continue on the legacy of the Florida Diamond Club.
I want to thank everyone, especially the coaches and teams, who have given their time and efforts into putting this weekend together. Membership and recognition is at an all-time high, and I thank you for your continued support, participation, and passion for the Florida Diamond Club.
