PRESIDENT’S WELCOME

On behalf of the Florida Diamond Club Scouts Associations members, we would like to extend a friendly welcome to everyone who will be attending our Event.

The 2012 Florida Diamond Club Event will be taking place on the weekend of October 19th-21st in Lakeland, FL at Joker Marchant Stadium, the Detroit Tigers Spring Training Complex. The game schedules will remain the same as in years past, except Sundays schedule will be moved up one hour, that game will begin at 10:20 a.m.

There will be one game on Friday evening; first pitch will take place at 6:30 p.m. After the conclusion of game one, there will be a hospitality night at “The Gym” in downtown Lakeland. Food and drink are complimentary for members.

Saturday will feature two more games, morning and afternoon. Lunch will be served to all members between games. Immediately following the second game, the Diamond Club banquet will be held at the Tiger town banquet hall. Dinner will be served, along with the awards presentation and general fellowship for members.

Sunday will include one game beginning at 10:20 a.m., concluding the event.

Rosters for the Event will consist of 20-25 players representing the four geographical regions of the state as well as players from Puerto Rico.

Membership will include admission to all games, lunch on Saturday, the hospitality night at “The Gym” and Saturday night’s banquet.

Once again, I would like to thank all of those that give their time and efforts to putting this weekend together. The Florida Diamond Club continues to give amateur players the opportunity to be educated on the Professional game of Baseball, and as a result, nearly 40 players that participated in the 2011 event were drafted in the 2012 MLB First Year Player Draft.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone in Lakeland.
